Since 1995, the Ohio Legislature has funded the Amer-I-Can Program in 28 public high schools and middle schools in 10 cities throughout the state. From 1995 to 2002, over 5,500 students were trained resulting in astounding improvements in grades, attendance and behavior.The city of Canton has funded the Amer-I-Can program at Timken High School, Hartford, Crenshaw and Lehman Middle Schools where over 1,200 students have been trained since 1995.
During the first three years of the Ohio operation, the average GPA of the students increased from 1.20 before the training, to 1.64 at the end of the training, representing a 37% increase.
